Do you think that the Alexandria bank deal is against the interests of Egypt? I can tell you from expertise that it is most definetly good for the Egyptian economy. Out of the 16 Bln, 9 Bln will be used to pay for the debts of failing textile companies and reform them. As for banks, we have plenty of them anyways, so there will be no monopoly there, and then what is the difference between selling Alex Bank, and allowing City Bank, or HSBC to open a branch in Egypt? I tell you; nothing, it's all the same, and it is good for the economy, a lot of hiring by other banks to compete with the new bank, more funds poured into Egypt, more money available for development.
